Radio Silence

From critically acclaimed author Alice Oseman comes a smartly crafted contemporary YA novel, perfect for readers who love Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl. This is an utterly captivating and authentic new teen novel from the author of Solitaire, which VOYA said “could put her among the great young adult fiction authors.”

Frances Janvier spends most of her time studying.

Everyone knows Aled Last as that quiet boy who gets straight As.

You probably think that they are going to fall in love or something. Since he is a boy and she is a girl.

They don’t. They make a podcast.

In a world determined to shut them up, knock them down, and set them on a cookie cutter life path, Frances and Aled struggle to find their voices over the course of one life-changing year. Will they have the courage to show everyone who they really are? Or will they be met with radio silence?

This book was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I cried, I laugh and it was beautiful. I think that the author really helped teenagers with this book. I feel really lost nowadays, I will turn 18 at the end of this year and to be honest I don’t really know what to do with myself. I feel like I have to go to Uni just like Frances and Aled do. And i could really relate to them. The characters are really relatable and I just couldn’t put the book down. I loved every second of it. I’m really excited to read more of Alice Oseman in the future. Ps.:You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing to find happiness, we all have to find our own way Be out there and find your own way, listen to your own voice

I’ve been wanting to read something by Alice Oseman for a long time. Since I already own the german edition of Solitaire, Alice’s debut novel, I just had to get Radio Silence as well. Alice Oseman is a young author, which reflects perfectly in her novels, where topics like social media, first love and the importance of friendship are predominant. I loved the interaction between the main two characters. Their witty and sarcastic conversations, as well as their emotional talks were beautifully written. A great book with short, powerful chapters and amazingly developed characters.
